At the Mauri Kjar Swimming Pool in Plunket St, there is a MetService weather station recording the temperature and the hours of sunlight each day, and a rainfall monitor monitored by the Regional Council.

Rainfall

Rainfall is spread fairly evenly through the year. In 2019, a rainfall gauge was added to the MetService weather station at the Pool in Plunket St. The hour by hour rainfall measurements are available through the Bay of Plenty Regional Council's website. Here is a link to the Regional Council's monthly rainfall web-page. This has a link to the BOPRC Rainfall Summary report which includes a row for Kawerau using rainfall figures from the Mauri Kjar Pool in Plunket St.
